This course focus on definitions communication, language, speech, normal development of speech and language, communication disorders defined, prevalence, language development and language disorders including classification of language disorders, causes, strategies for assessment and interventions, delayed language development. Speech disorders including voices disorders, articulation disorders, fluency disorders, and speech disorders associated with neurological damage. In addition, this course focuses on causes of speech impairment and language disorders, identification and assessment, educational approaches and considerations, educational placement alternatives, communication variations, early intervention, transition to adulthood, current issues and future trends. |
