This course emphasizes on the methods of integration counseling procedures with parents of exceptional children; family system theories, family dynamics, related family stressors, and enhancing parent-professional partnership. Challenges faced by parents of children with special needs. Application of positive communication and interaction with parents and techniques of facilitation communication skills will be discussed. Ethical and legal issues are presented to guide professionals working with parents of exceptional children. |
