This course aims to study the basic concepts of radiation dosimetery, radiation chemistry and effects of ionizing radiation on human body including both the genetic and somatic effects. The radiation effects at the subcellular, cellular, tissue and organs levels. The response and sensitivity of cells and tissues to radiation . Theories and models for cell survival and modification of the biological effects of radiation.Safety procedures when using radiation at the individual and community levels. Proper use of radioactive materials. |
