This course aims at studying various aspects of translating legal documents from Arabic into English, with a special focus on understanding and translating both civil and criminal case documents from Jordan, and some legislative documents and legal contracts as well. Students are also expected to be acknowledged about the terminology, style and translation of legislative documents and legal contracts. Elements of legal writing style and background to the fundamentals of law as they relate to legal translation will be introduced. Students will have opportunities to practice translating legal documents of several topics. |
