The course aims at training students on interpreting from Arabic into English and vice versa. Students are expected to enrich themselves in the good sum of vocabulary that they may across in the course, especially that the selected materials will cover different fields or text-types. In the first part of the course, students are provided with English texts to be interpreted into Arabic, and from Arabic into English in the second half of the term. They will also be trained on how to overcome interpretation problems through training on different types of discourse. They are given some materials to listen to, with different dialects sometimes, and the training is conducted in the English Department lab. |
