In this course the students are expected to study the morphological theory, using their different resources, e.g., Plag’s book on English word-formation (Plag 2003), and building on introductory textbooks, e.g. Carstairs-McCarthy (2002). A number of articles on morphological topics (such as inflection, derivation, compounding and productivity) will be discussed with the students to deepen their understanding of the issues involved. |
