This course aims at training the students to carry out a contrastive text analysis of translated and original texts in English and Arabic, in terms of types of sentence conjunctions, which grammatically and semantically connect the sentences that realize the text and make it read as such in a particular context. This course will also include explanations of the basic linguistic theories of discourse analysis, and the errors which might be made during the phase of analysis. |
