This course is an introduction to pragmatics which is the study of how people use language, according to the context in various forms, whether written, temporal, spatial, etc. It introduces some of the concepts of this field in regard to eliciting meaning through various social, linguistic and cultural dimensions. Accordingly, this course provides a basis for the study of pragmatism, which is an integral part of linguistics. |
