This course is mainly concerned with introducing articulatory phonetics and the technical terms required for describing speech sounds. It is also concerned with training the student to transcribe speech at the phonemic and phonetic levels through mastering a set of symbols. It, moreover, touches upon many of the main concepts of acoustic and auditory phonetics. |
