Course Discription |
:
This course mainly deals with paragraph writing and its components. In some very important ways, this course requires students to begin to work with the type of a more formal language than the one they will use in their full-time academic studies and professional work. Specifically, transitions, subordination and parallelism are taught in addition to the four basic elements of paragraph development, the topic sentence, the controlling idea, unity and coherence. Various text types at a paragraph level are taught, viz., descriptive, narrative, argumentative, literary, and scientific conversational. |
