Course Discription
:
This course deals with the interconnectedness and interdependence of the branches of soil science and hydrology. The course deals with a systematic approach and a comprehensive presentation to study the pedological processes of soil, hydrologic reactivity and characteristics in the terrestrial environment near the surface of the earth in both its biological and non-biological aspects. The course aims at understanding the pedological controls on hydrological processes and properties, hydrological effects on soil composition, variability and functions. This category emphasizes soil in the real world with distinct characteristics (eg soil structure, horizon and heterogeneity), environmental variables (eg climate, land forms, living organisms), human impacts (eg, land use and management), hydraulics and geological biological flow.
