:
Sedimentary rocks, their mineralogical and chemical composition. Classification and their petrographic characteristics using the polarizing microscope. Processes of sedimentation, and depositional environments including terrestrial: fluvial, glacial, lacustrine, Aeolian and alluvial fans. Transitional environments; tidal and delta. Shallow and deep marine environments. Field trip and laboratory applications. |
