Ancient Arab Civilizations
The course familiarizes students with the archaeology of Arabian Peninsula during the different periods; there will be a focus on kingdoms of south Arabia (Sheba, Qataban, Himyar, Ma’in and Hadhramut) and north Arabia (Didan and Lihyan). The political, social, architectural, and religious aspects of these civilizations will be clarified besides their writing, which is in addition to the relations between them and ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Levant and Egypt.
