This Course will address the biomechanical and biophysical principles involved in fabricating of generic, static and dynamic splints. During this course a thorough revision of upper extremities anatomy and physiology will be done. Different upper extremities disorders and injuries will be discussed; the role of occupational therapist in treating previously mentioned conditions will be introduced including appropriate splints. Splints will be discussed in terms of type, functionality, treatment approach, wearing schedule, benefits and complication of splints. |
