This course provides students with information on the methods of treatment planning and implementation for the patient with physical dysfunction. Throughout the course, students will be expected to draw and expand on their knowledge of various pathologies already studied to understand the general nature of physical dysfunction. The problem solving process of the case method approach will be utilized as a tool for learning how to use theory to determine the appropriate evaluation techniques and treatment goals for specific patients. The activity analysis process will be used to determine the appropriateness of various treatment methods for specific patients with a variety of diagnoses. The course will prepare the students for occupational therapy practice with physically disabled patients in the clinical affiliating settings. |
