This course focuses on the concepts of occupation, task, and activity as the main building blocks that occupational therapists use in treating their clients. The course introduces the students to the complex nature of the use of purposeful activities in occupational therapy. The course also provides the students with skills necessary to identify, analyze, and adapt activities that can be used as treatment modalities. The laboratory part of the course explores the creative, manual, and recreational skills related to occupational role function through engagement in a variety of arts and crafts that are relevant to today's practices. |
