Course Discription
:
Development of soil microbiology, the essential elements and compounds required for the growth and activity of microbes. Students will increase their knowledge of the environmental factors which determine growth and activity of microbes in soil, in addition to the carbon, nitrogen and phosphorous cycles in soil. The course concludes with a look at the decomposition of soil's natural and synthetic organic matter and its importance to soil fertility.
