This course traces the origins of literary criticism amongst Arabs and through different literary ages, thereby enabling students to grapple with the intellectual and cultural changes and their effect on growth and development of literary criticism. Critics’ literary apprehension of works will also be looked at to identify literary criticism directions from both the theoretical and practical angles. Students will also discuss important features for criticism as in usage of expression, content, literary craftsmanship and cases of plagiarism. |
