This course addresses principles of critical thinking and problem-solving skills to prepare the professional nurse as a researcher, and a consumer of research and its results to provide professional and ethical evidence based nursing care.This course provides the nursing researcher with scientific evidence based knowledge to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively with multi-disciplinary health care team. The content of this course aims to develop and update the learner's ability to differentiate between ways of knowing facts with emphasis on how a scientific inquiry build a knowledge base for the nursing profession.The course focuses on research processes, ethical considerations of nursing research, problem selection and statement, literature review, conceptual and theoretical frameworks, variables, hypothesis, research questions, research designs, sampling techniques, data collection and measurement methods and data analysis. |
