This course provides an advanced and integrated fieldwork experience designed to prepare students for transition to entry-level occupational therapy practice. Under professional supervision and with progressively increasing independence, students assume responsibility for managing the occupational therapy process, including information gathering, evaluation and occupational performance analysis, identification of priorities and goals, planning, implementation, and modification of occupation-based and evidence-informed interventions, outcome evaluation, and discharge and follow-up planning. Students further develop competencies in time and caseload management, documentation, professional communication, client and family education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Emphasis is placed on advanced clinical reasoning, professional decision-making, person-centered practice, safety, ethics, professional responsibility, and demonstration of competencies required for entry-level occupational therapy practice. |
