This course examines the theoretical foundations, conceptual models, and frames of reference that guide occupational therapy practice. It explores fundamental concepts related to the person, occupation, environment, occupational performance, and participation and analyzes their relationships within major occupational therapy theories and models. The course introduces selected models and frames of reference used in practice and principles for their selection and application in evaluation, problem identification, goal setting, intervention planning, and outcome measurement. Emphasis is placed on critically comparing theoretical approaches, applying theoretical knowledge to diverse clinical situations and cases, developing clinical reasoning, and justifying professional decisions within person-centered, occupation-based, and evidence-informed practice. |
