This practical course provides advanced application of occupational therapy assessment and intervention skills for individuals with complex physical and neurological disabilities. Students integrate assessment findings and occupational performance analysis to identify problems and priorities, establish goals, and design and implement person-centered and evidence-informed intervention plans. Practical applications include advanced activities of daily living and functional mobility training, management of motor, sensory, and perceptual problems, selection and application of assistive technologies and adaptive equipment, environmental assessment and modification, principles of seating and positioning and wheelchair use, and support for return to home, community, and vocational roles. Emphasis is placed on advanced clinical reasoning, problem solving, client and caregiver education, documentation, outcome measurement, and collaborative practice within rehabilitation teams. |
