This course emphasizes on counseling procedures for exceptional children and their families, family system theories, family dynamics, sources of family stresses, enhancing parent-professional partnership, and challenges faced by children with special needs and their parents. It also deals with application of positive communication and interaction with special needs children and their parents and techniques of facilitating communication skills. Ethical and legal issues are presented to guide professionals work with exceptional children and their families. |
