This course provides an overview of the field of hearing impairment including definitions of children with deaf and hearing loss, and classification. It also covers the types and causes of hearing impairments, their prevalence, and characteristics of children with hearing impairments. The course covers also measurement of hearing ability, assessment procedures, and gives an overview of the types of services, placements, and instructional strategies along with the legal and historical perspectives of education for children with hearing impairments |
