Prof. AMIN NASER MENAZEL ELEIMAT

It is of my immense pleasure to welcome you through the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences (FAMS) website. The college was established in 1998 after the Hashemite University Board of Trustees had taken the decision number (2/1/98). The main goal of the college is to graduate competent graduates capable of fulfilling the local and regional market needs in the diverse fields of applied medical sciences.

FAMS includes the following four departments:

1- Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences
2- Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics
3- Department of Medical Imaging
4- Department of Physical and Occupational Therapy
Students at FAMS will enjoy an education and university life full of valuable knowledge supported with specialized clinical training that will enable them serve patients and the community.  Distinguished faculty members and administrative staff are available to give top-notch education and support for students at the college. Additionally, there are versatile labs equipped with different types of analytical and diagnostic machines and equipment. Moreover, FAMS have agreements with public and military hospitals and private health centers to train students of the FAMS in the different fields of medical sciences. This is greatly important because proper training gives them the right hands-on experience and enhances their dexterity and competition in the job market.
The college has a persistent tradition of giving the best educational materials and techniques to enable students to gain the required theoretical background accompanied with exquisite lab training and field experience. Additionally, all the programs in the college have research methodology courses as indispensable part of the curriculum and faculty members, which usually involve senior students in doing scientific research. This provides them with the required knowledge necessary for continuous development and innovation in their future careers.
FAMS has a master program in clinical laboratory sciences. Also, FAMS is currently in the process of establishing graduate studies programs in clinical nutrition and dietetics and is seeking to establish a master program in sport therapy offered by the department of physical and occupational therapy. These graduate studies programs come as part of the FAMS mission to develop the knowledge and to emphasize the importance of FAMS specialties.
As part of college mission, which is compatible with university mission and objectives, the administration focuses on encouraging students to participate in non-academic activities such as athletics, voluntary work and services, arts and acting and this is usually organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Students Affairs. Also, FAMS usually aims to serve and interact with the local community. This is achieved by making and organizing demonstrative lectures and seminars and by making free medical days and field visits to schools and suburbs to spread knowledge and serve people who need help. The college has also, a distinguished rehabilitation center equipped with competent staff and machines to offer consultation and supportive medical services to the university staff and the local community.
