The Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University successfully organized the second training workshop on Capacity Building for Clinical Preceptors as part of the Erasmus+-funded project aimed at strengthening clinical teaching practices in Jordan.

The two-day workshop, held on Wednesday and Thursday (15–16 January), brought together academic staff from the Faculty of Medicine alongside clinical instructors from the Ministry of Health, Royal Medical Services, and the private healthcare sector. The training focused on enhancing practical skills essential for effective clinical teaching.

The sessions were delivered by a team of trained faculty members from Yarmouk University who had previously completed intensive Training of Trainers (ToT) programs through the project. The trainers included Dr. Alaa Al-Omari, Dr. Aseel Gharaibeh, Dr. Anas Al-Jayousi, Dr. Dina Qaadan, Dr. Hadeel Helalat, Dr. Suha Al-Bitawi, Dr. Qais Al-Saadi, Dr. Mohammad Al-Zoubi, and Dr. Adel Al-Shara’.

The workshop featured hands-on training covering key competencies in clinical education, with strong engagement and positive feedback from participants. The interactive format allowed attendees to exchange experiences and discuss real-world challenges in clinical training environments.

At the closing ceremony, certificates were awarded to participants by Dr. Maryam Al-Omari, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, on behalf of the Dean.

This initiative is part of a broader international collaboration involving six public medical schools in Jordan, in partnership with the University of Minho (Portugal) and the University of Patras (Greece). The project aims to enhance the qualifications of clinical educators and improve the quality of medical training.

The Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University plans to continue organizing similar workshops to expand the reach of professional development opportunities for clinical preceptors, in line with its commitment to continuous improvement in medical education.
