The Faculty of Medicine at Hashemite University held a workshop to review the strategic plan of the college and enhance the curriculum. The workshop focused on developing study plans and introducing the European Union Erasmus+ Capacity Building Educational Program for Preceptors: Supporting medical students’ clinical experience, launched on January 17, 2024.
The session also aimed at defining the vision, mission, and future goals of the faculty.
Representatives from various educational and healthcare institutions attended the workshop, including the Ministry of Health, Prince Hamzah Hospital, Al-Zarqa Government Hospital, Royal Medical Services, private sector hospitals, and the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Balqa University. Dr. Randa Mahasneh, Deputy Dean of Academic Development at Hashemite University, was also present.
The workshop featured presentations on study plans and clinical training, gathering feedback and suggestions. Additionally, a comprehensive presentation was given on the Erasmus+ Clinical Training Support Project. This EU-supported initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of clinical trainers (doctors) in medical colleges and university hospitals, improving medical education in Jordan. The program focuses on designing and implementing professional training to enhance teaching, supervision, and training skills of clinical trainers. It also provides outstanding educational and training experiences for students through qualified clinical and academic medical staff.
This constructive activity is part of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of medical education and elevate healthcare services in Jordan. The workshop serves as a significant step towards achieving the strategic goals of the college and fostering productive collaboration between universities, healthcare institutions, and international partners.
