HU’s Activities to Promote Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Awareness

The Hashemite University (HU) actively provides various services to enhance awareness of energy efficiency and renewable energy by organizing specialized workshops, seminars, and site visits. The main activities include:

Free Activities

  • Students from public and private universities, as well as elementary and secondary schools, have visited HU’s renewable energy projects to learn about their importance, environmental impact, and the simplicity, safety, and transferability of renewable energy technologies.
  • HU has signed mutual agreements to provide consultation and supervision for more than ten renewable energy projects across Jordan. These collaborations represent a direct contribution to capacity building and knowledge transfer in large-scale renewable energy projects. Examples include:
    • University of Jordan – 16 MW PV Project
    • Zarqa Free Zone – 1.5 MW PV Project
    • Prince Mohammad Sports Complex – 1 MW PV Project
    • Jordan University of Science and Technology – 20 MW PV Project
    • World Islamic Sciences And Education University supervisory
    • Zarqa Municipality
    • Civil Status Department
    • Zarqa Endowments Directorate
  • More than 150 undergraduate and graduate students have completed their technical field training and research during the development and operation phases of HU’s projects. In addition, over 75 faculty and staff members have directly participated in committees, supervision, and training activities.

Paid Activities

  • HU offers specialized PV (Photovoltaic) training courses for the local community, providing practical and theoretical knowledge to enhance technical skills in solar energy systems.
