About Department

MISSION
THE MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL NUTRITION AND DIETETICS IS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL NECESSARY FOR A SUCCESSFUL CAREER IN THE VARIOUS NUTRITIONAL SETTINGS WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITY.

VISION
AN ACTIVE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM IN CLINICAL NUTRITION AND DIETETICS AND GETTING RECOGNITION AT THE INTERNATIONAL LEVEL  THAT IS RESPONSIVE TO THE CHANGING NEEDS OF THE PROFESSION AND SOCIETY.

GOALS
1. TO PREPARE DEPENDABLE, COMPETENT INDIVIDUALS COMMITTED TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE PROFESSION OF DIETETICS.
2. TO PROVIDE OPTIMAL EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS DURING THEIR PROFESSIONAL PREPARATION FOR CAREERS IN NUTRITION.
3. TO PROVIDE TRAINING FOR OUR GRADUATES TO PREPARE THEM FOR THEIR CAREERS
4. TO ACHIEVE LOCAL AND REGIONAL RECOGNITION FOR THE QUALITY OF OUR UNDERGRADUATE.
5. TO IDENTIFY OPPORTUNITIES AND ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND VACANCIES.


CAREER OVERVIEW FOR NUTRITIONIST
GRADUATES OF CLINICAL NUTRITION AND DIETETICS DEPARTMENT WORK IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: 
1. HOSPITALS AND OTHER HEALTH CARE FACILITIES: EDUCATING PATIENTS ABOUT NUTRITION AND ADMINISTERING MEDICAL NUTRITION THERAPY AS PART OF THE HEALTH CARE TEAM. THEY MAY ALSO MANAGE THE FOODSERVICE OPERATIONS IN THESE SETTINGS.
2. MEDICAL CENTERS, FOOD CATERING AND FOOD INDUSTRY.
4. NUTRITION COUNSELING CENTERS: EDUCATING OUTPATIENTS ABOUT THE APPROPRIATE DIET FOR     THEIR MEDICAL CASES.
5. SPORT CENTERS: EDUCATING CLIENTS ABOUT THE CONNECTION BETWEEN FOOD, FITNESS, AND       HEALTH.
6. COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC HEALTH SETTINGS: TEACHING, MONITORING, AND ADVISING THE
    PUBLIC, AND HELPING TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE .
