Department of Computer Information System (CIS)

Programs

The Computer Information System program aligns with the CAC of ABET general and
program criteria. The program has 132 credit hours distributed over eight semesters. Table
5-1 presents the study plan for the students of CIS program including the offered courses
in the form of a recommended schedule by year and credit hours for each. In general, the
program includes 9 credit hours of math and sciences courses, 27 credit hours of general
education, 87 credit hours of Computing Topics (44 credit hours of fundamental courses
and 43 credit hours of advance courses), 21 credit hours of courses that supports the
information system environments (note that some of them are overlapped with Computing
Topics), and 9 credit hours of University free elective course and two management courses
(Principles of Management (1), Principles of Finance).
