The Third Scientific Day of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at The Hashemite University featured a series of specialized scientific sessions addressing key professional, scientific, and regulatory issues in pharmacy and healthcare. The sessions brought together distinguished academics, experts, and professionals from various healthcare sectors.

The scientific program commenced with a lecture by Professor Yazan Hassouneh, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at The Hashemite University, entitled "The Pharmacist's Role in Common Oral Diseases." He highlighted the pharmacist's essential role in promoting oral health and emphasized the importance of equipping pharmacists with the knowledge needed to recognize common oral and periodontal conditions, provide appropriate counseling, and refer patients when necessary as part of an integrated healthcare approach.

Mr. Khaled Al-Ahmad then delivered a session entitled "Building Your Presence on LinkedIn in the Healthcare Field," focusing on the importance of developing a strong professional identity and personal brand. He also discussed how LinkedIn can expand professional networks, enhance career opportunities, and facilitate scientific and professional engagement.

In a specialized session on infant nutrition, Eng. Rabaa Al-Maaytah, Head of the Infant Formula and Baby Food Division at the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, presented the authority's role in ensuring the safety and quality of infant formula. She outlined the regulatory framework, inspection procedures, and monitoring systems implemented to ensure compliance with national standards and specifications.

Dr. Rawan Abu Dalo, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, reviewed the latest global developments in infant formula composition. She emphasized the pharmacist's scientific role in evaluating infant nutrition products and providing evidence-based counseling to parents. She also reaffirmed that breastfeeding remains the optimal method of infant feeding and stressed that the use or switching of infant formula should only occur following consultation with a physician or pharmacist, cautioning against misleading marketing claims that lack scientific evidence.

The scientific sessions concluded with a lecture by Dr. Muhannad Odeh from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at The Hashemite University, who highlighted the importance of keeping pace with scientific and professional advancements in pharmacy. He emphasized continuous professional development and lifelong learning as essential components for meeting international standards and the evolving needs of the healthcare workforce.

The sessions were moderated by Dr. Abdulrahim Al-Qudah, Dr. Areen Shwayat, and Dr. Anaam Al-Momani, who facilitated engaging scientific discussions and interactive dialogue between speakers and participants, contributing to a rich and productive learning experience.
