Accreditation

In 2011, BME BSc Program in the Faculty of Engineering got the approval for the special accreditation by the Higher Educational Ministry of Jordan. The new plan became 160 credit hours to provide a balance between the theoretical and experimental courses. The Bio-Medical Engineering Program is nowadays in a process for getting the ABET accreditation.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):
The program educational objectives (PEOs) of the Biomedical Engineering program at HU are to produce graduate who:

1.  Pursue a successful career in biomedical engineering profession which aims to lead to the development of health sector in Jordan.
2.  Are committed to professional and ethical standards.
3.  Are able to pursue graduate studies and academic research.
4.  Are Committed to progress in continuous learning, professional development and managerial & leadership skills.

Student Learning Outcomes (SOs):

(a) An ability to apply knowledge and principles of mathematics, science, and engineering to solve engineering problems
(b) An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
(c) An ability to design a system, component or process to meet desired needs.
(d) An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams
(e) An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
(f)  An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
(g) An ability to communicate effectively developed through report writing and in class presentations.
(h) The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a regional and local context
(i) A recognition of the need for, and ability to engage in life-long learning
(j) A recognition of the need for, and ability to engage in life-long learning
(k)  An ability to use the techniques, skills, and, modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
