In 2011, Civil Engineering BSc Program in the Engineering Faculty got the approval for the special accreditation by the Higher Ministry of Jordan. The new plan became 160 credit hours to provide a balance between the theoretical and experimental courses. The Civil Engineering BSc Program is nowadays in a process for getting the ABET accreditation and the quality assurance certificate.

Few years after graduation, graduate of the Civil Engineering Program is expected to be able to:

 PEO#1: Become technically competent engineer for a successful and productive career in civil engineering

PEO#2: Be a researcher in a prominent industrial enterprise

PEO#3: Be a graduate student in a world - class university

PEO#4: Be an entrepreneur in civil engineering field


Student Learning Outcomes (SOs):

(a) An ability to apply knowledge and principles of mathematics, science, and engineering to solve engineering problems
(b) An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
(c) An ability to design a system, component or process to meet desired needs.

(d) An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams
(e) An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.

(f)  An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility 
(g) An ability to communicate effectively developed through report writing and in class presentations.
