The Civil Engineering Department understands the importance to bridge the academic sector with the industrial sector. The department of Civil Engineering organizes events each semester to introduce current students to the job market by inviting speakers from highly reputed companies and organizations. Examples for such events are listed below:
1. Participating in both local and international conferences, seminars, and workshops.
2. Organizing meetings with fresh student to introduce them about the department and welcome them.
3. Holding an open day during which many activities are prepared by Civil Engineering students along with participation of CE organizations.
4. Inviting lecturers from CE companies or public institutions to provide lectures for students about special CE topics.
5. Preparing scientific trips for students to visit CE sites for educational purposes.
6. Established the AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR ENGINEERING EDUCATION (ASEE). The ASEE Student Chapter at The Hashemite University aims to increase the knowledge of engineering students and inform them about the latest developments in engineering education and career opportunities in different engineering fields
7. Established the American Concrete Institute (ACI) student chapter (ACI-HU), The ACI chapter aims to promote knowledge, research, and professional development in the field of concrete technology. This is done through engaging the student in competitions, webinars, and field trips.
