Biomedical Engineering is defined as the integration and application of engineering principles and design concepts into medicine and biology for the advancement of health care.

Our department was established in 1998 as a response for the needs and requirements of the market both nationally and internationally; and received the first patch of students in 1999. Since then our department has been providing medical centers, universities and research institutes in Jordan and around the world with highly qualified biomedical engineers that are capable in the fields of Biomedical Instrumentation, sensors, biomaterials, tissue Engineering, medical imaging, biomechanics, BioMEMS, and rehabilitation engineering .Our graduates have good reputation and are highly recognized both in Jordan and in the region.
