The main objective of this course is to familiarize student with hardware security concepts including: design-for-trust; protection against tampering; examining attacks and counter-measurements; and detection and isolation of hardware Trojans. The course will cover the following topics: Hardware security threats including: threat models, types of threats such as side-channel and hardware Trojans. Counter-measurements, including: Detection techniques: pre-silicon and post-silicon techniques Physical Unclonable Functions. Design-for-Trust (prevention) techniques: runtime monitoring, obfuscation and Trust modules. Metering for prevention of piracy. Advanced research. |
