Course Discription
:
This course invites consideration of basic questions at the heart of liberal study: what does it mean to be human? How have human beings of different times, places, and cultures made sense of themselves and their world? How are we to live as responsible global citizens? In the course, the students will be able to provide critical accounts for Classicism and Romanticism in Britain during the seventeenth and eighteenth century and in France in the nineteenth century. In this course, there will be a survey of the Romanticism consequences on classicism in general and on the German, French in particular in terms of novel and poetry.
