Introduces basic principles of medical device design starting from identifying clinical needs, through conceptual design, modeling, component selection, and ending with prototype building and performance/safety evaluation. Addresses standards/regulations for medical devices, risk management, verification/validation tests, plus usability considerations and medical ethics. Aims to provide skills to transform ideas into practical medical solutions through applied projects and case studies. |
