As part of the ERASMUS+ Capacity Building Educational Program CaP4Preceptors: Supporting Medical Students’ Clinical Experiences, a delegation of 60 medical professors from six Jordanian medical schools visited the University of Patras in Greece from September 29 to October 2, 2025.
This collaborative initiative aims to strengthen the quality of medical education in Jordan by enhancing the clinical teaching, supervision, and mentorship skills of preceptors working in teaching hospitals.
   The delegation comprised members of the project’s steering committee, academic faculty from Jordanian partner universities—including the Hashemite University, University of Jordan, Jordan University of Science and Technology, Yarmouk University, Mutah University, and Al-Balqa Applied University—as well as representatives from the two European partner institutions, the University of Minho in Portugal and the University of Patras in Greece.
Hosted by the University of Patras, the visit featured a series of intensive hands-on training sessions inaugurated by the Dean of the Medical School, Prof. George L. Adonakis. These workshops represented the final stage of the trainers’ workshop series, providing the project team with the last opportunity to refine and test the developed training materials before the official implementation of the new preceptor training program in Jordan.
   The sessions focused on adapting evidence-based educational strategies to the Jordanian clinical context, promoting active learning, and aligning the program’s content with international standards. Administrative and strategic meetings held on September 30 and October 1, 2025, facilitated discussions on implementation logistics and upcoming evaluation frameworks.
  The Hashemite University delegation included Prof. Mohammad Qudah (Dean of Medicine), Dr. Ahmed Sheyyab, Dr. Mohammad Altamimi, Dr. Tamara Kufoof, Dr. Salma Braizat, Dr. Redab Al-Ghawanmeh, Dr. Fida Asali, Dr. Benjamin Colton, and Prof. Randa Mahasneh, the project manager.
  The visit concluded with an educational tour of Patras University Hospital, where Jordanian participants exchanged experiences with Greek clinical trainers in various medical specialties.
   Reflecting on the significance of the visit, Prof. Randa Mahasneh highlighted the importance of this final phase, noting that it represents a milestone in building a sustainable, high-quality framework for clinical preceptor education in Jordan.
  The CaP4Preceptors project continues to embody a shared vision of excellence in medical education, fostering sustainable capacity building and international collaboration to improve the future of healthcare training in Jordan.
