Renewal of ABET International Accreditation for The Hashemite University Engineering Programs
The faculty of Engineering at The Hashemite University has obtained the renewal of the American international ABET accreditation for an additional 6 years, which ensures the continuity of accreditation until 2030. It is worth noting that the college obtained this accreditation for the first time in 2016, and its renewal continued due to the college's commitment to international education standards.
Professor Khaled Hesham Hyari, President of The Hashemite University, praised this achievement, which confirms the university's continuous efforts to obtain international accreditations, and improve the quality and development of the educational process, and to advance academic programs and curricula that keep pace with the most prestigious international universities, stressing that the faculty of Engineering's obtaining the renewal of ABET accreditation is an indication of the university's commitment to providing high-quality education that balances theoretical aspects and practical application, and is also evidence of the excellence of the academic programs offered by the university, which positively reflects on the efficiency of graduates and enhances their opportunities to enter the labor market locally and internationally.
Prof. Hassan Katkhuda, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, stated that the faculty has sought, over the past years and since obtaining the prestigious accreditation, to maintain the quality of its programs and study plans to continue this broad international recognition of its undergraduate programs, which allows the faculty graduates the ease of accreditation to equate their degrees worldwide and enables them to easily apply to complete their postgraduate studies or have jobs in various countries, pointing out that this accreditation is subject to periodic reviews to ensure continuous development and adaptation to the latest developments in the fields of engineering.
It is noteworthy that the seven programs that obtained renewed accreditation are the Bachelor’s programs in Civil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.
