Discussing aspects of cooperation between The Hashemite University and Friedrich Schiller University-Jena, Germany
The Vice President of Hashemite University, Prof. Dr. Khaled Abu Al-Teen, and the Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Friedrich Schiller University-Jena, Dr. Wolfgang Wiegand, discussed aspects of joint cooperation in the fields of scientific, academic and research exchange, with the attendance of Prof. Dr. Ala' Eftaiha and Dr. Hassan Abu Al-Fotouh from the Department of Chemistry.
Prof. Abu Al-Teen stressed the keenness of the university administration to enhance cooperation with international institutions and open horizons for academic and cultural exchange for faculty members and students, given its importance in exchanging expertise and benefiting from shared experiences and knowledge that enrich the academic and research aspects. He appreciated the existing cooperation between the two universities in the field of academic exchange, as the German university hosted a number of researchers and academics from The Hashemite University as visiting researchers. In turn, Dr. Wiegand praised the scientific and academic level of the members of the Chemistry Department at The Hashemite University, as well as the advanced laboratory equipment provided by the department and its efforts to develop its programs and plans in order to raise the academic level of students, stressing the importance of the department obtaining international accreditation from the Canadian Chemical Society in the undergraduate program. It is noteworthy that Dr. Wiegand is a member of committees for European supporting bodies, including the DAAD Graduate Scholarship Program and a member of the selection committee for the ERASMUS+ program. He also serves as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of prestigious international scientific journals.
