For the purpose of enhancing the academic and research collaboration and student institutional cooperation with Iraqi universities, a delegation from the Hashemite University headed by the University President, Prof. Dr. Fawaz Al-Abd Alhaq Al-Zboun,, the Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdelbaset Al-Zyoud, and the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Prof. Dr. Abdelbaset Al-Shurman, visited five Iraqi universities in Mosul and Erbil, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Memorandums of understanding and cooperation have been signed with some Iraqi Universities; including Mosul, Salahuddin, Hamdaniya, Tishk, and Al-Noor University College. The Hashemite University delegation also met with the Jordanian Consul in Erbil, Mr. Fuad Al-Majali, and the two parties discussed ways to enhance scientific, academic and student cooperation relations between the Hashemite University and Iraqi universities in the region.

 
The President of the Hashemite University and the  accompanying delegation met with some of Iraqi universities presidents, including The President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Qusai Al-Ahmadi, the President of Salahaddin University, Prof. Dr. Kamran Younis Muhammad Amin, the President of Hamdaniya University, Prof. Dr. Aqil Al-Araji, the President of Tishk International University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Samad Salah Ahmed, and the Dean of Al-Noor University College, Prof. Dr. Yassin Taha Al-Hajjar. Also, the delegation visit and the follow-up procedures have been coordinated and supervised by Prof. Dr. Nazim Al-Watar, Head of the German Corner at the University of Mosul, and Prof. Dr. Abdelbaset Al-Shurman.
 
The President of the Hashemite University asserted that a number of memorandums of mutual understanding have been signed, in addition to activating memorandums that had been previously signed with sister universities. The scope of cooperation and joint work included several aspects, such as launching joint academic programs, synergetic research work, master's and doctoral dissertations defenses, exchanging visits of scientific, cultural, and sports delegations, spending sabbatical leaves, and holding joint scientific conferences. 
The delegation discussed the possibility of providing scholarships for graduates of the Hashemite University to complete their postgraduate studies in partner universities, especially those that offer distinguished master's and doctoral programs, as well as the possibility of having students from the Kurdistan region, Iraq to study the Arabic language for non-native speakers at the Hashemite University as the university possesses advanced laboratories, ??and has distinguished expertise and competencies in this field.
