The Hashemite University on Monday launched an enhanced field-training system at  Queen Rania Faculty for Childhood, aimed at enhancing practical training for future early childhood teachers.

  In an introductory meeting organized in cooperation with IREX, which implements the Early Childhood Education Project "Asas" in Jordan, Hashemite University Vice President Prof. Sadeq Shdeifat said field training bridges academic knowledge and professional practice, and is particularly important in preparing early childhood teachers.

   Teacher preparation, he stressed, is a shared responsibility requiring stronger partnerships between teacher-training institutions and the education sector.

   Khaled Muhareb, Director of the Ministry of Education's Early Years Education Directorate, said the ministry prioritizes early childhood education and teacher preparation to improve education quality and align training programs with field needs.

   Faculty Dean Prof. Fathi Ihmeideh said the system was revised to reorganize training courses and increase field-training hours from 12 to 18 credit hours.

    Dr. Saeb Khasawneh, Director of Teacher Education at IREX, said it seeks to update academic courses and establish an integrated professional system for preparing early childhood teachers, including linking academic content with the competencies and practices required in the field.

  The project’s work at the university also includes capacity building, field training, and the responsible use of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence.

  The gathering featured specialized sessions and workshops on field training. It included partners from the Ministry of Education, education directorates in Zarqa, Amman, and Mafraq, IREX, and the Queen Rania Teacher Academy.
