The Hashemite University and Hikma Pharmaceuticals Group signed a memorandum of understanding today, Sunday 17-11-2024, for the purpose of providing training opportunities for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy during their studies, and training for graduates within the on-the-job training program (Internship) with the possibility of appointing some of them according to the needs and conditions of the group. The Memorandum also included aspects of cooperation in holding training courses and programs, seminars and conferences in the fields of medicine and pharmacy and their regulatory affairs, and exchanging scientific visits, and benefiting from experts in Hikma Group to provide specialized lectures in pharmaceutical sciences, and partnership in building and developing study plans and programs so that they remain in line with the needs of advanced pharmaceutical industries.

 

The memorandum was signed by Prof. Khaled Hyari, President of the Hashemite University, and Mr. Hussein Arkhagha, CEO of Human Resources at Hikma Pharmaceuticals Group, in the presence of Prof. Khaled Abu Al-Teen, Vice President of the University for Scientific Colleges Affairs, Prof. Saja Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Ziad Al-Duwairi, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Mr. Amr Magharbel, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Hikma Group, and a team of managers at the group. Prof. Al-Hyari said that the university seeks to build practical partnerships in various leading national industrial sectors, especially those that university students reap the fruits of in terms of training, qualification, future opportunities, and development of skills and capabilities. He added that the university is working to increase the period of practical and applied training for students in various specializations and make the study programs more linked to the industrial sector and the requirements of labor markets and enhance applied skills in them. He also pointed out the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two sides and building a research partnership by preparing applied research that serves the national industrial sector and provides solutions for it, especially the Jordanian pharmaceutical sector, one of the most prominent national sectors that has reached the world for many years, most notably the Hikma Pharmaceuticals Group.

The university president expressed his happiness to document the partnership with Hikma Pharmaceuticals Group, which is a distinguished Jordanian success story and possesses extensive competencies and expertise, welcoming further cooperation between the two parties, especially in developing plans and programs according to international standards. For his part, the CEO of Human Resources at Hikma Pharmaceuticals stressed the importance of building a sustainable and strategic relationship between the two parties, noting that Hikma Pharmaceuticals provides unique and specialized global expertise to each trainee, indicating that the company looks forward to joint construction with universities and investing in national human resources, especially university students, based on social responsibility to support our Jordanian society. He added that the memorandum of understanding signed today is an important first step that we will work to follow with subsequent steps to cooperate and benefit from the competencies available on both sides. The Hikma Group delegation visited the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and listened to an explanation from the Dean of the Faculty about the most prominent facilities of the Faculty, its laboratories and modern equipment. The delegation also met with faculty members to discuss ways of institutional cooperation mechanisms between the two parties.
