Dr. Jamal Al-Shalabi, professor of political sciences at the Hashemite University participating in the book titled “Cold War” published by the international publication house, Peter Lang.
The professor of political sciences and international relations at the Hashemite University, Prof. Jamal Al-Shalabi, and the retired major general Dr. Awad Al-Tarawneh, former commander of the royal Jordanian national defense college, published a chapter in the book: “ A reminder of the Cold War”: Twenty- First Century visions of global geopolitical tension” the chapter is entitled “ Arabs and Soviets: from the relationship of necessity to the tragic ending: An Arab point of view”. The book is published by the international academic publishing house, Peter Lang, in Berlin, Brussels, Lausanne, New York and Oxford.
The book sheds the lights on various point of views related to the Cold War presented by scientists and scholars from all over the world and on its outcomes on different countries and regions, with focus on the issues of politics, economics, and culture, referring to the increasing interest in the cold war residue, since the world is currently witnessing another wave of tensions in the international relations which has been called the new cold war.
The book editing was supervised by Dr. Jaroslaw Suchoples, the professor of contemporary history at the Polish Academy of political sciences, and Dr. Stephanie James, a researcher at Flinders University in Australia, and Dr. Heikki Hanka, the professor of cultural history at the Finland University of Jyvaskyla.
