TEMPUS current status in HU
  • Highlight of main events until (6/2010) present to Berlin meeting ( 13-21/6/2010 ):

1-      Form a technical team to develop the courses “researching children (methodology), and improving services for children”, copy of the two courses syllabus were developed, the curriculum of researching children was developed,  copy of this curriculum in its final form is available for this workshop. Curriculum of the “improving services for children” is still in process of developing, editing, and its expected to be in its final for in one month.

2-      Develop a program to orient the students of the HU about importance of this diploma in their future careers, the project coordinator and members of public relation in HU are working on developing an action plan to raise awareness of local community and related NGOs about the importance of this program in enhancing the child right to improve the quality of future life of the children.

3-      The project mangers develop a pamphlet in Arabic and English about the diploma, a copy of this pamphlet is under design by special designer at HU.

4-      The situational plan of this diploma that was developed in Arabic and English language is revised by college council, and council of scientific research, and council of deans in HU, in order to send it to higher council of education in order to be accredited in HU, in order to start teaching the diploma courses in the next year.     

5-      Submit an electronic page about TEMPUS project with regard to the importance of collaboration with participated universities in this program to develop the Diploma “public policy and children rights”, in strengthen the movement of protection of the children locally and world wide. Copy of this page was sent to the president of HU.

6-      A list of (50) references related to the program was develop and necessary procedures were taken to buy it, its expected with 3 month this list will enrich the library. In addition a list of current related references available was prepared.

7-      A list of standards and qualification of the setup of the instructional laboratory was developed in collaboration with different related department in HU, copy of this list was sent to the president of HU, in order to be approved, and start administrative producers to buy it .

8-   One of main obstacles for disseminating this program to the student is the location of the HU are far from the residential area comparing with JU, I suggest that scholarship should be offered to some of the students in order to start this program properly.

  • Highlight of main events until (12/2009):

1-      Orient the Queen Rania Faculty and members of Special Education Department, and early childhood Department, and the Dean of the scientific research in HU with the TUMPUS project with regard to plan objectives, current status, and future aspects of the program, and its role in improving the quality of teaching and learning in HU, and local community.

2-      Submit an electronic page about TEMPUS project with regard to the importance of collaboration with participated universities in this program to develop the Diploma “public policy and children rights”, in strengthen the movement of protection of the children locally and world wide. Copy of this page was sent to the president of HU.

3-      Form a technical team to develop the courses “researching children (methodology), and improving services for children”, copy of the two courses syllabus were developed, the both teams are currently working in developing the curriculums.

4-      Conduct a library search about the references needed for teaching the courses and assigned a member of a faculty to conduct a survey about references needed for the teaching requirements of this diploma.

5-      Enrich the library with references about child rights and law, researching in children, children advocacy, poverty, family status in Jordan, and children services. Thanks to the HU to take the initiative to approve, and allocate financial support to buy these references. 

6-      Submit a request to the university to allocate space for the laboratory room to be equipped with accordance to the budget of the project.

7-      Disseminate the idea of this project during lectures to the students in different specialization in order to make a common awareness between students about this program.

8-      Working on instructional plan of the Diploma in order to be submitted to the ministry of Higher Education to be approved in order to start teaching this diploma next year 2010/2011.
