Chairman Message

   

The mission of the MLS department is to promote professional excellence, maintain high standards in the field of laboratory investigations, and provide the community and health services with high quality medical laboratory services. 

 

Objectives

o       Pursuing knowledge, education, and professional training in the field of medical laboratory sciences.

o       Providing local health care services and the community with highly qualified laboratory technologists.

o       Providing regional and international market with highly skilled technologists.

o       Providing scientific institutes with professional graduates capable of conducting research and performing different scientific studies.

o       Graduating high-quality students capable of pursuing higher education in the field of laboratory medicine.

 

Future vision and ambitions of MLS 

o       Establishment of a referral diagnostic laboratory in the field of molecular genetics to serve local and regional communities.

o       Obtaining international recognition and professional accreditation.

o       Encourage enrollment of students holding diplomas (two-years degree), and the enrollment of students from regional countries.

o       Providing higher education scholarships for outstanding students to obtain postgraduate degrees (Ph.D or M.Sc) in internationally recognized universities.

o       Organizing and conducting scientific conferences and meetings in different fields of MLS.

o       Encouraging scientific research activities through the development of research laboratories of faculty members, and through collaboration with national and international research groups.

o       Encouraging academic collaboration and exchange of faculty members through Sabbatical years or through hosting visiting professors from other universities.

o       Encourage faculty members to provide courses through E-Learning for enrolled students and also for the community.
